How is your Lent coming along?

Friday of the Second Week of Lent, 03/01/02

Periodically, I seem to have the joyful mind-bending experience of tripping
over a book or an article written by Fr. George Rutler, a diocesan priest
from mid-Manhattan. His latest piece, "Why We Need Lent" is available
through the kindness of PetersNet, a subscription-based site that I
occasionally scurry through somewhere between web publishing and
earning my own daily bread.

Most of us on the web probably think that the internet is a free ride -
except for the ISP part. This may be true for the publication of some sites,
but for those who totally dedicate their lives to evangelization, some sort of
remuneration is necessary. Although I have no connection with PetersNet
(other than my subscription), I am unabashedly recommending PetersNet to
you. By now, it should be clear that they have a lot to offer for the mere
pittance they ask. If you would like to read Fr. Rutler's latest take on
things ecclesial - and Lenten - and much much more - please humor me
and do yourself a favor and surf on over to http://www.petersnet.net/ and
enter “rutler” into the search box. “Why We Need Lent” appears at the
bottom of the list for Rutler.
